“Protecting people from the threat of terrorism is not a box-ticking exercise. The Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025 places clear and ongoing legal duties on organisations and their designated Responsible Persons.

Compliance with the Act is not a product that can be purchased, transferred, or guaranteed by a third party. It is achieved through ongoing actions, decisions, and governance exercised by the organisation’s Responsible Person. External advisers, including Aegis Risk Advisory, can support and guide this process, but cannot make an organisation compliant or assume its statutory duties.

Aegis Risk Advisory is led by a Chartered Security Professional with more than 25 years’ experience across policing, national security, and Critical National Infrastructure, including senior leadership roles responsible for security governance, risk assessment, assurance, and Board-level advisory in highly regulated and threat-exposed environments.

The business is supported by a small, highly experienced team with backgrounds across senior leadership, protective security, counter-terrorism, investigation, training, and organisational governance.

We support organisations to understand their legal duties, assess risk realistically, and develop defensible arrangements that protect people while remaining appropriate to their environment.

Our role is to advise, support, and challenge — helping organisations take ownership of their responsibilities and demonstrate a proportionate and auditable approach to Protect Duty compliance. Ultimate responsibility for implementation, risk acceptance, and ongoing compliance always remains with the organisation.”
